A 7-inch full colour touch screen conveniently displays all test parameters along with measured values for yield stress, viscosity and temperature. On screen graphing shows real-time test data which can be captured in stand-alone mode, recorded on a printer or sent to a PC. Built-in math models, such as Power Law, can provide rapid data analysis for flow index and other selectable variables. The Höppler principle is used to measure the viscosity of Newtonian liquid by measuring the time required for a ball to fall under gravity through a sample-filled tube that is inclined at an angle. The average time of three tests is taken; the result is converted into a viscosity value using a simple formula.

Two models are available:
KF10 has a fixed angle of 80° and complies with DIN 53015
KF20 can be angled at 50°, 60°, 70° and 80°.

  DIN Adapter

The DIN Adapter Accessory (DAA) is a cylindrical spindle geometry that conforms to the DIN 53019 specification. Three spindles and three chambers are provided. The DAA can be attached to any standard Brookfield Laboratory Viscometer/Rheometer.

Enhanced Brookfield UL Adapter is used with any standard Brookfield Viscometer and Rheometer to make accurate and reproducible measurements on low viscosity materials. Newtonian and non-Newtonian materials can be measured. It is most commonly used with the LV series instrument (at 60 rpm, these models have a full scale range of 1-10 cP with the UL Adapter). The UL Adapter consists of a precision cylindrical spindle rotating inside an accurately machined tube. Its rheologically correct cylindrical geometry provides extremely accurate viscosity measurements and shear rate determinations. The tube has a removable end cap which allows the open ended tube to be used in a beaker or tank. With the cap in place, the closed tube can be immersed in a temperature bath or used with the ULA-40Y water jacket for precise temperature control. Working temperature range is from -1°C to 100°C.

The difficulty with viscosity measurements of hot melts and liquids at elevated temperatures has been in maintaining accurate temperature control that is consistent from sample to sample so that meaningful data could be obtained. The Brookfield Thermosel solves this problem by providing a stable, precisely controlled sample environments. This, together with the inherent accuracy of the Brookfield Viscometers, is fundamental to the Thermosel System, which produces viscosity measurements that are not only accurate but entirely reproducible.

silicone General Purpose Silicone Fluids

General purpose silicone fluids are the most commonly used standard for verifying calibration of your Brookfield Viscometer/Rheometer. Silicone Standards are Newtonian fluids which are accurate to ±1% of viscosity value. Silicone fluids provide excellent temperature stability and are less temperature sensitive than oil viscosity standards. Brookfield Viscosity Standards are certified by methods traceable to the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The selection of one or two fluids will normally provide sufficient measurement points to verify calibration of your instrument. All fluids are supplied in ½ liter (1 pint) containers complete with a certificate of calibration.
